Target area: includes census tracts 90.00, 91.01, 91.04, 92.01, 92.02, 93.01, 117.01, 118.00, 119.00. This area is approximately enclosed by CF Hawn, Jim Miller, Scyene, and Masters.
My target area is located in the southeast portion of Dallas. I work closely with a code inspector to address various code and zoning issues that affect the quality of life for the residents in my target area. We frequently coordinate with various local and state agencies to tackles issues in the community. Most commonly, we observe home occupation, illegal outside storage, improper or no certificate of occupancy, substandard structures, illegal businesses, as well as other various code violations. This portion of Dallas has a significant amount of commercial activity. Most recently, the Pleasant Grove campus of Eastfield College opened. In the near future, the area will be connected to the city via DART’s Green Line. It is also very racially diverse. This area has a very strong sense of community and many active crime watch groups.

Citizen ACTION Team: meetings are usually held on the 4th Tuesday of the month, 6pm, Eastfield Pleasant Grove campus (802 S. Buckner). Citizens are invited to attend these monthly meetings to discuss community issues and receive status updates at the next meeting.
