Lisa Christopherson joined the Dallas City Attorney's Office in November 1981. In addition to providing legal advice to the City Council, the City of Dallas Ethics Advisory Commission, and a variety of city departments, her principal areas of practice include drafting ordinances amending the Dallas City Code (except for the Dallas Development Code); drafting ordinances adopting the City of Dallas annual budget and tax levy; drafting ordinances calling City of Dallas general and special elections and submitting voting changes to the U. S. Justice Department for preclearance under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act; drafting amendments to the Dallas City Charter; and drafting amendments to the Dallas City Council Rules of Procedures. Ms. Christopherson also oversees the publication and supplementation of the Dallas City Code, the Dallas City Charter, and the Dallas City Council Rules of Procedure.
