Carney Anne Chester joined the Dallas City Attorney's Office in January, 2007. Her practice focuses on civil litigation on behalf of the City against property owners who are not maintaining their properties in compliance with minimum housing standards, with Fair Housing laws, or with zoning ordinances. Ms. Chester also files lawsuits seeking the demolition of dilapidated and substandard vacant structures in the City of Dallas and additionally handles permit and licensing appeal board hearings, primarily relating to dancehall permits.

- Prior to joining the City Attorney's Office, Ms. Chester worked as an associate attorney at Hermes, Netburn, O'Connor & Spearing in Boston, Massachusetts from 2003-2004, where her practice focused on insurance coverage/defense and general civil litigation; and at DeHay & Elliston in Dallas from 2004-2006, where her practice focused on products/premises liability and mass toxic torts.
